Széchenyi István University will host the Hungarian 2023 Drone Racing World Cup between August 25-27, which is the final round of the Hungarian championship. In the vicinity of the Győr campus, spectators will be able to enjoy spectacular drone races with pilots from ten countries, including members of the Hungarian national team.
The Hungarian 2023 Drone Racing World Cup will be organised by Széchenyi István University and Edutus University of Tatabánya, in cooperation with Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt. and the Hungarian Drone & Multirotor Association. The University of Győr will be the official venue of the International Aeronautical Federation (FAI) recognised championship, which will be the second international multirotor FPV drone competition in Hungary to date.
There will also be competitors from the international elite, such as one of the world’s fastest drivers, Poland’s Pawel Laszczak.
”Drones have a lot of application potential and building their ecosystem and an emerging development drone strategy will contribute to its effective exploitation.”- said Gergely Fábián, Minister of State for Industrial Policy and Technology office, a part of the Hungarian Ministry of Economic Development, at the competition’s opening press conference.
Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, Head of Trustees of the Széchenyi István University Foundation, which maintains the University of Győr, and also President of the Hungarian Drone Coalition, said:

Judit Árvai-Füleki, CEO of Edutus University, referred to the good relationship with Széchenyi István University, which together have already achieved several successful competition placement, in the technical fields of drones and LEGO robots.
