Brief description of the project:

The aim of the project is to create a marketable complex measurement system primarily for the classification of used vehicle batteries.
The essence of the circular economy model is that products that have been used once are reused after their normal use. The main result of the project is the Smart Vision Battery Test System, a complex device for classifying used batteries, consisting of modular complex hardware, measurement control software, and prediction software that also uses a database of previous measurements.
When implementing the evaluation software, the consortium will examine the possibility of using artificial intelligence and other prediction algorithms, which, when combined with the measurement database, will help improve the speed of testing.
The aim of the project is to offer a ready-made, high TRL solution to these future problems. The second use reduces the carbon footprint of new products made from batteries and is also expected to provide an economical solution.
Before all types of vehicle batteries currently on the market can be reused, the cell modules must be measured and classified, so cell module classification equipment is expected to remain relevant for the next 10-15 years. Modules with unsuitable parameters will not be used for second-life applications, but will be recycled immediately (shredding, separation of raw materials).
