The Department of Road and Railway Vehicles in cooperation with the Vehicle Industry Research Centre at the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University held a two-day conference on the automotive industry at the university\u2019s business school — Management Campus. Now in its tenth year, the highly successful event sought answers to the industry’s questions of the future with the help of renowned experts in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobility and the environment were at the heart of the conference organised by Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, where renowned experts and key industry players from the automotive and transport sectors shared their experience and knowledge with the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the speakers at the event were Vince Kruchina, CEO of Vol\u00e1nbusz Zrt., L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Szedlmajer, Deputy CEO of the Bus and Trolleybus operations at the BKV Zrt., and J\u00f3zsef \u00d3berling, Head of the Traffic Police Department at the National Police Headquarters, who spoke about transportation safety in Hungary in line with the objectives of the European Union. Bal\u00e1zs Weingartner, President of the HUMDA Mobility Development Agency, a member of the Sz\u00e9chenyi University Group, and J\u00e1nos Mayer, Managing Director of the Hungarian Institute of Transport Science and Logistics, also spoke about the latest developments in the automotive industry. The programme also included presentations by experts from the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University regarding the research being carried out at the institution, which encompassed the topics of autonomous vehicles, sustainable testing options and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The automotive industry has always played a key role in our county’s economy. This is still the case today, as Audi Hungaria operates the world’s largest internal combustion engine factory here. The automotive industry is currently facing a number of complex issues and problems that need to be solved together, with joint resolution , because this sector is not only indispensable for the economy of our country, but also for the economy of Europe. The challenges facing the modern automotive industry include automation, robotics, and electromobility, among many others, and this conference is a great opportunity to reflect on these issues as they relate to our common future and its successful outcome in order to impact our region with the best of opportunities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Imre Pint\u00e9r-P\u00e9ntek, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Gy\u0151r-Moson-Sopron County, stressed in his welcome speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For ten years now, the aim of our highly successful conference has been to examine automotive issues in the context of higher education, society, and the economy at large, as such professional questions can only be answered in this context. We are proud that our distinguished speakers are made up of leading figures from the transport profession, and with their support we are able to explore into forward-looking topics ranging from road safety to environmental protection.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Prof. Dr. Istv\u00e1n Lakatos, the event’s chairman and Deputy Dean of the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Automotive Engineering at the university, underlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
