Two graduating classes of the Bolyai J\u00e1nos Technikum, a part of the Gy\u0151r Vocational Training Centre, visited Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, where J\u00e1nos Holl\u00f3si, Programme Director of the Neumann J\u00e1nos Informatics College, introduced them to the IT faculty\u2019s program, its courses, and professional and research opportunities related to the faculty, as well as the student organisations of the institution. The vast majority of students who visited are planning their future at Sz\u00e9chenyi University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For years, it has been a tradition for the graduating students of the Bolyai J\u00e1nos Technical College in Mosonmagyar\u00f3v\u00e1r to visit Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University before making their decision on which university to apply to. Part of their visit includes attending a career guidance lecture, where important life and career information is given. The relationship is fruitful for both sides: many of the Bolyai students continue their studies at the Gy\u0151r institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The first Bolyai J\u00e1nos Technical College visit was in 2016, and since then the students have been returning to our school under the guidance of teacher \u00c1d\u00e1m Kov\u00e1cs. We have known each other since our student days, as he also graduated from the undergraduate program in computer engineering here,” said J\u00e1nos Holl\u00f3si, Programme Director of the Neumann J\u00e1nos University’s School of Computer Science. He also added that they try to support and assist each other\u2019s activities, with the example of collaborating in the  judging of in-house competitions of the technical college on several occasions with former programme director G\u00e1bor Tak\u00e1cs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Students always look forward to this event with great interest, as they can learn first-hand about the opportunities offered by the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University. Many of our graduates continue their careers at the Gy\u0151r-based institution, thus strengthening the inter-island community of Moson and the university,” said \u00c1d\u00e1m Kov\u00e1cs, IT teacher at the Bolyai J\u00e1nos Technikum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These graduating students will finish as  IT systems management technicians, with most of them planning to become IT engineers. During the short presentation, these young and motivated students had the opportunity to learn more about the IT courses and programs offered at Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University. In addition, J\u00e1nos Holl\u00f3si, a staff member of the Automotive Research Centre and the Digital Development Centre, as well as a PhD student at the Multidisciplinary Doctoral School of Engineering, spoke about the major research projects at the university, including autonomous driving and drone development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, a presentation on the Neumann J\u00e1nos Informatics College was also given: the benefits of the college were discussed, as well as the opportunities benefit for professional development at its vocational educational facilities .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the programme and visit concluded – as usual – with a tour of the campus and professional research laboratories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
