Supporting programmes aimed at strengthening educational development and growing the scientific community base as well as promoting related development projects, is at the heart of the cooperation agreement signed by Zsolt Gyulay, President of Hungaroring Sport Zrt. and CEO of Hungaroring Sports Centre, Prof. Dr. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Palkovics, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University Foundation, Dr. B\u00e1lint Filep, President of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University and Prof. Dr. Ferenc Friedler, Vice-Chancellor of the University, on 28 November at Hungaroring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the document, the partners declared their intention to create a unique automotive, automotive-motorsport technology & science centre to be located in the Central -Eastern European region\u2026 to be called the MINDS Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name MINDS Park refers to the Motorsport Innovation and Development Science Park. The cooperating parties would establish it adjacent to the Hungaroring area, allowing for direct track access. Their aim is to raise the level of training and research in the automotive industry in Hungary by using the facility to attract high added value development activities into the country. The MINDS Park could also contribute to the promotion of innovative research & development projects, as well as to the creation of new mentoring and higher education programmes in the field of automotive motorsport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Motorsport is a field of continuous technological development, which will sooner or later also be reflected in road vehicles, making road transport safer and smoother. This is why the Hungaroring, as the home of motorsport and the empire of speed, has a duty to support innovative projects such as the MINDS Park. I participated in the opening ceremony of the academic year at Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, and I had the good fortune to have a glimpse of the valuable and wide-ranging work that is being carried out at the institution, so I am confident that this mission is destined for success” – emphasised Zsolt Gyulay, Chairman and CEO of Hungaroring Sport Zrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The development of the MINDS Park’s infrastructure, buildings and equipment can provide another opportunity for cooperation between Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, the automotive and motorsport industry and their market integration. Through even closer partnerships with companies and other economic players, the competitiveness of the national economy can be further strengthened, and this will also contribute to the university becoming a unique automotive knowledge and competence centre in the Central European region.” – said Prof. Dr. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Palkovics, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In order for our university to stand its ground in the international arena, it is important to continuously strengthen our professional and scientific competitiveness, which will be greatly supported by our cooperation with Hungaroring. Ranked in the top five percent of the world’s top universities, our institution is closely linked to motorsport with its automotive education and world-class student racing teams. These activities can also be further supported by the outstanding infrastructure of the MINDS Park. The park can also serve the innovative research & development projects using cutting-edge technologies which in turn will providing real-world solutions,” said Prof. Dr. Ferenc Friedler, Vice Rector and Scientific Chair of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
