Project description:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basic vehicle developed in the course of the project will enable users to achieve complex capabilities, which can be a useful addition to the fleet of equipment generally used, primarily in road conditions, for the performance of special tasks. The vehicle’s size makes it a solution that can be used in urban environments, and its protection and mobility make it ideal for interventions in dangerous areas that are inaccessible by other vehicles. The uniqueness of such a modular, multifunctional, armour-protected vehicle is best illustrated by the fact that the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) is currently conducting a market survey to see if there is a comparable product available in the world before tendering for the replacement of its existing ageing fire-fighting vehicle with armour protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University is working closely with the Computer Technology and Automation Research Institute (SZTAKI), a member of the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd Research Network (ELKH), the largest and most successful IT research institute in the country, on autonomous vehicle control tasks. The planned project will further strengthen the university-research network cooperation, thus contributing to the effectiveness of the R&D human resource base in the field and thus to the knowledge-based competitiveness of Hungary. The publication and presentation of the results achieved in autonomous vehicle control tasks will help potential automotive engineers, electrical engineers and computer scientists to specialise in this field, thus helping the dynamic development of the automotive industry in this direction by providing a broader engineering training base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
