National Professional Award attained: Two marketing trainees from the Széchenyi István University’s Vehicle Industry Research Center are recognised and honoured for the outstanding efforts in their field!

In the category “Attractive Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region” a part of the “Tolcsva, Tokaj’s Treasure” competition set up with the participation of a local tourism marketing coop AszuTime was, held for the first time this year, and on the Széchenyi University side entered with a team consisting of marketing trainees Biborka Bartha and Dorottya Rácz where they won the competition and took home the special AszuTime award, which was presented by Zoltán Némedi-Varga on behalf of the company. “During the preparations, the mentoring of Dr. Eisingerné Dr. Balassa Boglárka, the expertise of wine expert Ágnes Herczeg, and the graphic design skills of Rita Földesi in the visual elements of the presentation contributed significantly to the outstanding quality of the entry” emphasised the duo team members.

The two-round competition began on the 26th of October and was organised by the Gundel Károly College of Economics, part of the Budapest University of Economics and Business in cooperation with the Szirmay-Waldbott Castle Visitor Centre in Tolcsva. The aim of the duo’s special prize-winning presentation, presented during the competition finals held in Tolcsva on the 18th of November, was to promote the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region to Generation Z, using detailed statistical data to fine tune digital marketing techniques and tools in conjunction with the creation and organisation of innovative events to attract the targeted guest group.

The representative of AszuTime appreciated the professional creativity and innovative elements represented in the contestants’ work, as the company’s target groups include young people with discretionary income combined with the curiosity and openness to spending time and adventure through the vineyards of the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region. The prize for the entry was an all-inclusive fun filled experience day in beautiful Boldogkőváralja.

Of the six excellent contestant teams, the entry presented by the students from Győr stood out the most. In addition to the special prize, the two contestants were honoured by their presentation’s success by an invitation from the mayor of Tolcsva, Ernő Csoma, to visit Tolcsva for a week in recognition of their outstanding achievements and its expected contribution to the region.

“I am very pleased that the competition participants obviously had a good time in Tolcsva. From what was seen during the competition, I generally felt many of them were genuinely interested in Tolcsva, one of the most beautiful villages in the Tokaj Hills. I would like them to get to know us even better and to meet us many more times in the future. I think the presentation of the Széchenyi Zetas was the most successful.” – Ernő Csoma, Mayor of Tolcsva proudly explained.

Biborka and Dorottya represented the University and the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region in an exemplary way with their professionalism, determination, and commitment. Their work and achievements will open new paths in the field of winemaking and marketing, contributing to the development and recognition of the region for generations to come.
